Before packaging your Carhartt gear for a trade-in, please double-check to make sure it satisfies our condition requirements to receive a gift card. If your gear does not meet the conditions outlined below for Carhartt Reworked, it might still be able to be repaired by Carhartt’s expert sewing team or repurposed through the Blue Jeans Go Green™ initiative.
BROKEN OR DAMAGED
Although we are unable to accept these examples below, we continue to honor our Built To Last Commitment, and offer repair kits that make fixing it yourself a snap.
BROKEN DRAWSTRING: NOT ACCEPTED
TORN BELT LOOP: NOT ACCEPTED
MISSING ZIPPER PULL: NOT ACCEPTED
PILLING OR MATTING
We are able to accept minor or moderate pilling and matting. Here are some examples below of what can and cannot be accepted.
MINOR PILLING: ACCEPTED

EXCESSIVE MATTING: NOT ACCEPTED
FADING AND/OR DISCOLORATION
Discoloration can happen — no worries whatsoever. We can still take it as long as it is not heavy.

PET HAIR
Before sending in your gear, please make sure to remove any pet hair.

PUT YOUR OLD JEANS TO GOOD USE
Bring your old jeans to the Carhartt store and we’ll work with Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program to repurpose them and help reduce clothing waste.
Jeans must be at least 90% cotton. Blue jeans Go Green ™ is a trademark of Cotton Incorporated.
